thinking of Hayley williams today

I have been listening to Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party on a continuous loop for the last… month? Month and a half? Something like that.

I did not see it get released (on my birthday!) until a week or two after – but oh man, once I heard it! This thought-provoking and poignant album has been on a loop in my house, car, workplace, everywhere.

I cannot get past her lyrics and the heart wrenching choruses, particularly on Kill Me, Negative Self Talk, and Glum. Top 3 of the album in my opinion for sure.

Hayley has been on a few interviews I have watched (specifically this one) that has really given an insight into how much this album means to her. It also means a lot to me.

It being released on my birthday has hit me especially hard. My #1 song on repeat (Kill Me) about the eldest daughter experience has shot me through the heart. I have always identified with Paramore and seeing Hayley break off into her own vein of sound has been inspiring.

I cannot wait to see where this takes her next.
