Today’s Themes:
- Soul-searching
- Seeking Alignment
- Creativity
- Vulnerability = Strength in the Conscious Mind
Today, I did a reading that followed along with this reading guide that I stumbled across online. I appreciated the thorough explanation of the card placements, the elements guiding the placements, and the questions that each card might be asking you to explore.
Spread:
- Center – the significant/the querent (The Hermit, upright)
- Upper Right – Earth/grounding (Seven of Swords, upright)
- Lower Right – Air/winds of influence (The Hierophant, reversed)
- Lower Left – Fire/destroyer (Ace of Swords, upright)
- Upper Left – Water/tides of intuition
- Top Center – Spirit/the whole or greater self (Princess of Cups, upright)
My Interpretation:
This reading feels to me like an affirmation of what I was already feeling internally.
I am reading the center (Hermit, upright) as the soul-searching, alignment-seeking, questioning internal pull I have been feeling for a bit of time now. There are several things in my life that are pulling me in different directions as far as my time, my energy, my priorities, and what I want to spend each of those things on. I have been asking myself to reflect and determine what would be the best use of my time and most truthful to my values and priorities for my goals in the short AND long term.
The upper right (Seven of Swords, upright) and lower right (The Hierophant, reversed) both lead me to think through the new groups + interests I am taking on. The excitement of the “new” could cause me to let my guard down in ways that, potentially, might come back to bite me in the ass. I need to maintain my boundaries to allow myself to be protected, while still allowing these experiences to be fun and exciting, too.
The upper left (Queen of Swords, upright) and the lower right (Ace of Swords, upright) lead the mind towards clarity, upfront-ness, and honesty. What trusts can be uplifted and relied upon? What clarity can I provide to those around me, while still maintaining my values and not compromising on my goals?
Finally, the top center (Princess of Cups, upright) is pulling my focus in the direction of remaining open-minded and vulnerable within my conscious mind while continuing to love and support those around me. Vulnerability CAN be strength! Those around cannot read your mind, and cannot be expected to know the best ways to support you – without the clear guidelines being vocalized. Allow people the chance to be a supporter to you just as you are a supporter to them.
Overall, the arching theme seems to be maintaining boundaries with a healthy dose of vulnerability to allow alignment to grow over the conscious and unconscious mind. Thanks for reading!
Love,
Beth
